Watch: Secrets of a Stylist
So, I was pretty excited to watch Design Star winner Emily Henderson’s new show last night. On “Secrets of a Stylist,” Emily transforms a room (or, in this case, a sa-weet Hollywood Hills bungalow that belongs to Glee co-creator Ian Brennan) based on her client’s sense of style/fashion. It’s a little Dress My Nest, a little Domino. It was great.
See photos of the space on Emily’s blog The Brass Petal and on her HGTV guest blog post.
My favorite part of the show? Seeing my Grand Ole Opry book…
…on the show:
Good taste, Glee co-creator. Now, how about a Highwaymen episode?

Here are a few fashion/design/lifestyle/twenty-somethings-like-me blogs I’ve added to my Reader lately:
- The Brass Petal: Am I the only one pretty excited about the latest Design Star winner Emily Henderson’s new show “Secrets of a Stylist”? If only her, David Bromstad and I could have a Home Goods shopping spree together. One can dream.
- Dilly Dallas: This girl is a fashion illustrator for the likes of DKNY. ‘Nuf said.
- Amy Nadine Beauty Blog: Amy is the make-up artist behind Lauren Conrad’s infamous wingtip eyeliner. And since I’ve already expressed my not-so-secret girl crush on LC once this week, I’ll stop there.
- My Opinion: Hits close to home in the literal sense, as it’s penned by a Charlotte-based style editor.
- Literally, Genevieve Clare: Sadly, she’s shuttering this blog – but it’s worth reading the back-posts for a funny, genuine take on life in NYC.
Quote: Rosanne Cash
“Just show up, just do it. Even if you feel like shit and you think you’re terrible and you’ll never get better and it will never go anywhere, just show up and do it. And, eventually, something happens.”

Hello, Fall shoes.

Forever 21. $25.
LC triumphs
Heh, heh, heh.

Also, Lauren will be in Cary in October. Don’t judge me.
Mark you calendars: September 14
Both of these things are happening September 14:
Coincidence? I think not.
And yes, I realize the irony (oddity?) of my tastes.
