I made this bread from scratch this weekend – if I can do it, you can do it.
I found this beauty at a local thrift store for just $22 – in perfect condition, I just couldn’t pass it up:
This performance and song may very well sum up the reasons why I’m such a big fan of Alan Jackson and why he’s one of the best country music has ever seen:
It’s one of his many nineties-era slices of neo-traditional heaven, but I’d forgotten about it for the longest time. Flash back to Father’s Day last year when I came across one of those musical greetings cards featuring this song – the perfect card for the man who is responsible for my love of country music.
I’m headed to see this guy tonight – after working his record for the past few months, it’ll be great to see him live.
Sondre Lerche – “Private Caller” Video (Stereogum Premiere) from stereogum on Vimeo.
“It’s good to hang out with real people that enjoy good music,” he says. “If that’s ‘Outlaw’ to you, let’s all be outlaws.”

It’s going to be a busy summer full of weddings – and I’ve found my go-to gift:
Mr. and Mrs. Cocktail Glass Set, $18 – Furbish Studios. If you’re in Raleigh, skip the shipping and handling and pick them up here.
