Guess who scored this $85 sparkler for $25 at the J.Crew Asheville Clearance Center Warehouse?
Me, me! Seriously, don’t pass through the mountains without stopping at this little gem.
(See what I did there? Gem? Jewelry? It’s Wednesday…)

Sometimes, the stars just align – like when a crazy-awesome fashion blogger shares your love of the crazy-awesome Dwight Yoakam:
We spent a great weekend in the mountains for Mother’s Day, where I was lucky enough to spend time with my Mom and my boyfriend’s family. They farm acres and acres (and acres) of apple orchards, which are slowly getting ready for harvest in August(ish).
From my stint at the N.C. Department of Agriculture – and growing up in a farming community – I’ve always had a huge respect for the work farmers do in our state.
And their farms make for great photos too:
This is a “SAVE” of a different sort – one you save-and-save-and-save-for, as opposed to the save-on-a-good-deal kind.
Pigalle 120 patent pumps – and yes, I’m terrified of messing them up.

What: Black gladiator(ish) heels from the Nine West Outlet in Morrisville.
Scored for: $24.99 on the dot – thanks, N.C. Tax Free Weekend. Another note – thanks to elastic strap inserts, these are actually really comfortable.
The “outlets” near the RDU airport actually consist of Nine West, Off Saks 5th Avenue, a handful of meaningless stores and a room dedicated to a Raleigh model train club. (Although to be honest, everyone in there seemed to be having a blast. I think model train enthusiasts may be some of the happiest folks on earth.) I almost always forget about the Off Saks outlet, which is usually pretty well stocked. On this trip, I came across these DVF jelly gladiators for $25, a gorgeous Lanvin corset for $800 (practically a steal!) and a pretty nice selection of Rebacca Minkoff handbags similar to this baby, only in purple.
